Railway Made Compulsory Valid ID Proof for All Sleeper Classes

Railway took the decision to make compulsory show Id proof with ticket from 1st December 2012.If you are taking railway ticket from a railway window then also you need to show the valid proof id in the Train. Earlier we were showing valid ID proof in case if we buy tickets online through the Internet. Now the same has applied to all Sleeper and AC coaches. You need to carry valid ID proof when you travel. Without carrying the valid ID proof, you will be considered as a without ticket and you will have to pay penalty for that.

Valid ID proofs are -

Passport
Voter ID Card
PAN Card
Driving License
Photo ID Card is having an ID number issued by central or state government.
Student ID card with photograph issued by recognizing school or college.
Aadhar Card
Nationalized banks Passbook with the photograph.
Credit cards issued by banks with laminated photograph.
Ration card will be accepted as valid ID for undertaking journeys and under the Tatkal scheme only if the passenger whose photograph is available on the ration card is travelling.

Indian Railway division of Delhi has taken initiative and launched a website to get to know the platform number of your train.If you are boarding the train from Delhi stations New Delhi, Delhi, Nizamuddin then you may get easily status on your platform.Trains are getting displayed as per today's date and day.Currently they have not added Anand Vihar in the list.They might be adding this station later. Railway and IRCTC Tatkal Booking Time Frame 10 AM to 12 PM

Railway and IRCTC have changed the timing of Tatkal Booking and now onward this time is 10 AM instead of 8 AM and it will be applied till 12 PM for all people excepting agents . A railway Tatkal booking window will open from 10 A.M morning.You need not to go so early on railway window to book the Tatkal ticket. If you do online Tatkal reservation then from the same IP address only two tickets will be allowed to book in a Tatkal Ticket Time Frame. When we tried at 8 A.M today then got below message. The new time has effected from July 10, 2012.

IRCTC agents can book the ticket after 12 P.M and the same rules apply to them too. Apart from it, IRCTC has managed server to tackle with online traffic load. But still that there is less chance to get an online Tatkal ticket now.You will know that Tatkal booking started one day in advance from journey date and Time is 10 AM now.
