Online Cancellation Procedure of Railway E-Ticket

Rule 1 - Cancellation Before Chart Preparation :-
Login in IRCTC website to cancel the E-ticket. The Ticket can be cancelled through Internet before 4 hours from departure of Train, Till the chart preparation you will have option to cancel the ticket, after that this option will not be available for a confirmed Ticket.

Rule 2 - Cancellation After Chart Preparation :-
If  You want to cancel the ticket after chart preparation or after the Train departure, You will have to fill the online Ticket Deposit Receipt which is eligible to file up to 30 days from journey date.You can check the Refund status online and also can check the your bank statement, the refund of amount can take time of zero days to 90 days.

IRCTC accepting the TDR File Request due to following causes -
  • Train got cancelled by Railways and passenger not travelled.
  • Train running late by more than three hours and passenger not travelled.
  • Difference of fare in case proper coach not attached.
  • AC failure in  the coach.
  • Travelled without proper ID proof
  • Wrongly charged by TTE
  • Party partially travelled
  • Passenger not travelled
Rule 3 - Automatic Refund of waiting Listed E-Ticket
If after the chart preparation, Waiting E-Ticket is not clear with confirmed status then IRCTC cancelled the ticket automatically and refund the whole amount after deduction of minimal transaction charges, Do not travel   with waiting E-ticket, it is considered as without Ticket in the Train, check chart status or send your PNR number to 139 to confirm the current status of E-Ticket.
